First Fridays: Affordable Art Fair

The Affordable Art Fair kicked off last night with a Private Viewing, which I was so grateful to have been invited to!

Affordable Art Fair:
Where:  Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Halls 3D - 3E)
When:  March 21 - March 23, 2014  (check website for times)
Price:  $63 - $162
Official Website:  http://affordableartfair.com/hongkong/
Online Tickets:  http://www.hkticketing.com/eng/

The Art Fair coordinator's said that there were over 120 local and international galleries in attendance at the fair.  The price of the works ranged from $1000 - 100,000 HKD.

This was the first time that I had attended any Private Viewing of any art gallery, especially for such a huge collection of galleries at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre...

...seeing live demonstrations of body art, carrying unlimited glasses of white wine around the gallery spaces, talking to gallery owners about their artists, discussing work inspirations...

...making an origami boat and writing a message on it for everyone to read...

...adding my origami boat to a local artist's calligraphy painting, helping other adults (those who found it quite difficult to follow the printed instructions) fold boats or houses, feeling like I was back in Elementary School, loving that feeling of being young again...

...viewing some awesome pieces of work, being overwhelmed at the amount of people I could meet and chat about different art pieces, being able to talk to artists from France, New Zealand, Thailand, Korea, the States, and local artists...

...and just being inspired by creativity!

Alas, the Affordable Art Fair was great to view and appreciate.  And I leave this blog post with a beautiful view of Hong Kong!
